President of Gem State Financial Group

An experienced financial professional with a successful track record in the insurance industry, Scott Leavitt brings over 25 years of full time experience to Gem State Financial Group. Along with his strong leadership skills and attention to detail, Scott has a track record working with both clients and advisers.

 Scott is married to his wife, Amy, with whom he has four children and nine grandchildren. His hobbies include bowling, racquetball, watching college football, and spending time with his family.​​​​​ 

Following two years with The MONY Group, he founded the Scott Leavitt Insurance & Financial Services firm in Boise, Idaho. Today, he shares his professional experience as a President/General Agent in recruiting, training, and mentoring successful agents with Gem State Financial Group.

Scott has been widely quoted on insurance matters across a variety of publications, including: The Wall Street Journal, Newsweek, INC Magazine, Fox Business, Kiplinger's Business, MSN, Money Magazine, USA Today, Bankrate.com, Yahoo Finance, Business Week and the Spokesman Review. He has also appeared on television and radio programs across the country.  He is recognized from coast to coast as a voice of experience in many personal financial and insurance planning matters.  

Scott has served as the President of the National Association of Health Underwriters from 2008-2009, and he is two-time President of the Idaho AHU (1999-2000 & 2010-2011). Prior to that, he was the President of the NAIFA-Boise in 2001-2002.  

Scott has been honored with the Boise NAIFA "Edward F. Glennon Award of Excellence for Lifetime Achievement" in 2005, the Idaho AHU "Dave Isern Lifetime Achievement Award" in 2000, and was presented with the "Scott Leavitt Service Award" by the Idaho AHU in 2010. He has received the NAIFA Sales Achievement Award and is a Lifetime Member of the LPRT and top of the table member of MDRT. Scott holds his FINRA Series 6, 63, 65 & 7 Securities Registrations.

Director of Operations

Preston is a Boise native and is married to his wife Paige who is also a Boise native. He served a two year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania preaching in English and Spanish. It was on his mission that Preston's love for serving and taking care of people began to grow. 

He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management from Boise State University. Preston is excited to help the agency grow and to be building his own clientele base to help his clients with their insurance & planning needs. He is a huge sports fan and loves the Denver Broncos and Seattle Mariners and of course any Boise State Athletic team.

Marketing Specialist 

  Paige is a Boise native and excited to be helping individuals and families throughout the Boise, Idaho area. She graduated from BYU–Idaho in 2019 with a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Management and in 2021 earned a Master’s degree in Business Management and Leadership from Western Governors University. She also served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Lusaka, Zambia and Blantyre, Malawi.

Prior to joining Gem State Financial Group, she worked with West Virginia University’s Extension Program, gaining valuable experience in community-focused outreach and education. Outside of work, she enjoys all that Idaho has to offer, especially time spent in the mountains.

Office Manager

Amy is a California native but, has lived in Boise the majority of her life. Amy has been married to her husband, Scott  for 27 years. She is a mother to four children and by extension a grandmother to ten grandchildren.

Amy has been a huge help to Scott since he went off on his own in 1994 and in the development of Gem State Financial Group since it began. She knows the insurance lingo very well and is a great asset to our agency.
